Art has a unique way of connecting us - both to ourselves and to the people around us. I'm Shari, a mixed media artist based in Louisa, Virginia, and a resident artist at Canal Quarter Arts in Fredericksburg. My work balances a dedicated, intuitive studio practice with a passionate mission to bring art directly to the community. 

My personal art is entirely intuitive and process driven. When I step up to a new mixed media piece, I rarely start with a destination in mind. Instead, I let curiosity lead the way. By working spontaneously and letting the mediums interact organically, each piece becomes a journey of discovery. For me, the magic of art isn't in controlling the outcome, it is in trusting the process and seeing what unfolds. 

While my studio work is a quiet, internal process, my passion for the community is all about connection. I believe that creative expression should be accessible to everyone, regardless of experience. I love designing warm and welcoming workshops that take the intimidation out of making art. My goal is to give people the space to play. experiment and discover their own creative voice.
